The Video Production business began after Michael graduated for the University of New Hampshire in 1986. He had completed a Bachelor or Arts degree in English, minoring in Philosophy. He worked his way through college at New Hampshire Public Television, NHPTV, Channel 11 working as a news intern, then moving up the the production department, ending his tenure at the Studio Crew Supervisor, overseeing the annual training of 35 student interns.
Pursuing a freelance career in 1986, Michael purchased a complete field video production package with partner Michael Blood, and began soliciting clients. The partnership dissolved several years later with Tivey retaining the assets of the company. Currently, Tivey is available to freelance for productions throughout New England, and beyond. He was fortunate to have been able to take on responsibilities at WGBH-TV Channel 2 as a full-time Master Control operator and Production Engineer, from September 1999 through August 2004. He has returned to the freelance ranks and continues to challenge himself and provide the highest quality video production and freelance camera, audio and videotape throughout New England and worldwide.
That emphasis continues today, where Michael Tivey designs all types of publicity information and specialty item printing for our customers. A substantial product Tivey Printing produced were the Area Resource Guides, published annually in Errol and Umbagog Lake region and Colebrook, NH and expanding each year to cover other areas. These publications provide information about these areas and the attractions and natural resourses unique to each region.
